For two years we tried every halal supplement we could find. Most were generic multivitamins with a halal logo retrofitted onto the tub. The few that weren't were either gym-bro performance shouting or pharmaceutical-feeling.
Nothing felt considered, and nothing felt like something we'd happily leave on a kitchen counter. The market for serious adult halal wellness — for Muslim men and women who care about what they put in their bodies and are particular about the things they buy — was a half-finished sketch.
So we started building one ourselves. We worked through the regulatory landscape — UK food supplement law, ASA copy clearance, MHRA borderline form, the GB Nutrition & Health Claims Register. We worked through five potential manufacturers before choosing our UK manufacturing partner in our UK manufacturing centre — BRC-grade, halal-certified, GMP. We worked through the HFA own-brand certification process, which is in final review at the time of writing.
The formulation is twelve ingredients, every one named, every one branded raw material, every one at the dose used in the most-cited published research. We chose our clinically characterised ashwagandha extract at the level used in the published research specifically because that's the form and dose used in the studies. We chose our standardised saffron extract at the level used in the published research specifically because that's the dose used in the studies. We're not interested in making things up to fit a price point.
The product is called The Barakah Pill — بَرَكَة, the Arabic word for blessing, for the kind of compounding goodness that grows quietly across time. The first 250 bottles are a Founders' Edition, numbered 001–250, with a Damascus Red wax seal pressed into the label. The Barakah Powder ships in a parallel Founders' Edition — the first 250 matte black tins, individually engraved, with a hand-signed founders' card. After that, the standard release.
The brand is called Innately Halal because we wanted the halal-ness to be infrastructural — the lowest level of the stack, not a sticker on the front of the box. Everything we build, from formulation through to founder content, will be halal by construction, not by retrofit. We're particular about the things we put in our bodies. We hope you are too.
